The terms on which these pages are read
This page sets out what Naira Twin Rate is, what it can and cannot do, and how the desk earns. It is written for a reader deciding whether to rely on the figures published here.
Information, not advice
Every rate on this site is a measurement, not a recommendation. The official rate is the Central Bank of Nigeria's volume-weighted NFEM rate for the latest trading day, taken from the CBN's published data. The street rate is the Lagos sell and buy average of dealer quotes posted by users, and the gap is the street sell rate over the official rate. These figures describe what things cost at a recorded hour. They do not tell a reader what to do with money, when to send it, or which provider to choose. Nothing here is an offer, a forecast, or investment advice. A reader who acts on these numbers does so on their own judgement, and carries the result of that decision alone.
The desk does not hold money, process orders, or arrange transactions. It is not a broker, not an exchange, and not a licensed adviser under the Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria or any other authority. A reader cannot open an account here, deposit naira, or ask the desk to buy dollars. The only relationship a reader can have with this site is to read it and, if a figure looks wrong, to write to the address on the contact page. That is the limit of the service. The desk's role begins and ends with taking a measurement from named public sources and republishing it with the date and hour it was read.
What the desk does
The Naira Twin Rate research desk reads two sources each time it updates the page. For the official rate, it reads the CBN's published NFEM rate for the latest trading day. For the street rate, it reads the Lagos sell and buy quotes posted by users on a public dealer board and takes the average. Every table names its source and links to it, so a reader can open the same page and check the figure at its publisher. The desk does not add its own estimate, smooth the numbers, or blend the two rates into a single 'dollar rate'. If a source is silent or a page fails to load, that update is skipped rather than guessed.
Responsibility for the figures sits with the desk, not with any named person. The desk reads the sources on each update, checks that the official rate is for the latest trading day and that the street quotes are from Lagos dealers, and records the hour of reading. If a reader reports that a figure is wrong, the desk re-checks the source and corrects the page where the error is confirmed, dating the correction. The desk cannot answer questions about what a rate will do next, which bank gives the best rate, or whether a reader should send money now. Those are decisions for the reader, not measurements for this site.
Affiliate relationship
This site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader clicks that link and later opens an account with FxPro, the site is paid a commission by the broker. The reader pays nothing to this site for that, and nothing extra at the broker because of the link. The commission does not change the figures on this page. The rates are read from the CBN and the Lagos dealer board before any broker relationship is considered, and the desk does not adjust a rate to favour the broker or any other advertiser. The affiliation is disclosed here and on the page about the publisher.
The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link leaves Naira Twin Rate. The desk does not control what the broker does with a reader's data, how it prices a trade, or whether it is suitable for a reader. The broker is regulated in its own jurisdiction, not by this site, and the desk makes no statement about the broker's quality. A reader who opens an account does so after reading the broker's documents, not on the strength of a link from this page.
What the site does not collect
This site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics, and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The desk does not know who reads the page, how long they stay, or which figures they look at. That is deliberate. A reader can check the rates without leaving a trace with the publisher. The only technical records are the hosting provider's request logs, which any web host keeps for its own operations. The publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of those logs, and does not combine them with anything else.
The contact address, editor@nairatwinrateng.pages.dev, is the only way a reader reaches the desk. Corrections are the reason the address exists. A reader who sees a figure that does not match the named source should write with the date, the table, and the number in question. The desk will check and, if the figure is wrong, correct it and date the correction. The desk cannot answer personal financial questions, cannot tell a reader which bureau to visit, and cannot act on a reader's behalf. The address is for errors in the measurement, not for advice about what to do with the measurement.
