Reaching the editorial desk

The desk behind Naira Twin Rate answers questions about the figures and corrects them when they are wrong. This page explains what is worth writing about, what happens to a correction, and what the desk cannot help with.

What is worth writing about

A figure that looks wrong is worth writing about. The measurements are republished from named public sources, and a reader may catch a misread number, a source that has moved or closed, or a question about how a rate is measured. The desk reads every message that arrives at editor@nairatwinrateng.pages.dev, and each one is checked against the sources named under the table. A correction is the main reason the address exists, and a wrong figure is corrected and the correction is dated.

A source that has moved or closed is also worth writing about. If a publisher changes its URL or stops publishing, the desk may not notice immediately, and a reader's note can prevent a stale link from staying on the page. A question about how the measurement is taken is equally welcome. The desk can explain the difference between the official CBN rate and the Lagos street dealer average, or how the gap is calculated, and can say which source a particular figure came from.

How a correction is handled

When a correction arrives, the desk checks the figure against the original source. If the published number differs from the source, the table is corrected on the same day and a note is added to the page giving the date of the correction and what was changed. The correction is not hidden, and the old figure is not kept beside the new one. A reader who returns later will see the corrected figure and a dated note saying when it was changed.

The desk does not correct a figure that was correctly read from a source but later revised by that source. If the CBN or a dealer republishes a rate, the table is updated on the next working day, but the earlier figure is not marked as wrong. A correction applies only when this site has misread, mistyped, or mislabeled a figure that was already published elsewhere.

What the desk cannot answer

The desk cannot give personal investment advice. It will not tell a reader whether to buy or sell dollars, whether to send money now or later, or what a fair rate for a particular transaction would be. The figures describe what things cost at a given hour, not what a reader should do with that information. A question that asks for a recommendation will not be answered, and the reader will be pointed back to this page.

The desk cannot help with a broker's account, a bank transfer, or a card payment. It has no access to any reader's funds, no relationship with any bank or dealer, and no ability to open, close, or adjust an account. A message about a stuck transfer, a wrong debit, or a failed card payment must go to the bank or broker involved, not to this desk. The desk also cannot answer questions about the broker FxPro's own site, its terms, or its customer service.

How the desk earns

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This is the only way the desk earns from these pages, and it is stated plainly here and on the page about terms.

Nothing on this site is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. The commission does not change the measurements, and the desk does not choose which broker to link based on what the broker pays. The link is a separate part of the page, marked as an affiliate link, and following it leaves this site.
